British glass producer Encirc says it has developed the "world's most sustainable glass bottle". According to a company statement, the bottles are made entirely of recycled glass and are currently produced using only bio-fuels. They produce significantly less CO2 in total than fossil fuels. This has reduced the bottles' carbon footprint by 90 per cent, it said. Encirc is currently also experimenting with hydrogen as well as CO2-free electricity to generate the necessary heat to be able to produce completely CO2-neutral bottles. According to Encirc, its customers already include well-known companies from the wine and beverage industry.
