Bernard Noblet, the long-standing oenologist of the Domaine Romanée Conti, will retire at the end of January 2018. His successor will be the 37-year-old Alexandre Bernier. He has already been working for the world-famous winery for eight years. Before that he was employed at the Domaine Chanson.

A report in the regional Burgundy daily newspaper "Bourgogne Aujourd'hui" has now been confirmed by the British importer Corney & Barrow. Noblet would have planned this step with the owners already three or four years ago.

This marks a far-reaching change for DRC: Noblet took over the management of the winery from his father in 1986, having been employed on the estate since 1978. André Noblet had previously been responsible for Romanée Conti from 1946 to 1985.
