Peter Riegel , founder and managing director of Riegel Bioweine in Orsingen, is handing over responsibility to his son Felix after more than 35 years at the helm of the company. He is supported by a team of long-standing employees: Sebastian Beemelmans (sales), Dieter Hallerbach (logistics), José Serrano (purchasing and QM), Dirk Prohaska (finances) and his second son Florian Riegel (future projects).
"Felix has already taken over a large part of my tasks over the course of the last two years. Released from the daily business, I will continue to accompany the company in an advisory capacity and as a shareholder", Peter Riegel commented the transition in a press release.
Riegel Bioweine emerged from an alternative retail business founded 40 years ago in Constance. Initially a wholesaler of general merchandise with wine, wool and environmental protection paper, the company specialised early on in the import of organic wines. Currently, about 90 employees market about 18 million bottles from Orsingen. Together with Mack und Schühle AG, Peter Riegel founded Bionisys GmbH for the distribution of organic wines in the food retail trade and, together with distiller Lorenz Humbel, Dschinn GmbH, which has built up an extensive range of organic spirits over the years.
