The wine magazine Vinum and the Munich-based Christian Verlag want to jointly publish the new "Vinum Weinführer Deutschland" as the third German wine guide in book form alongside Eichelmann and Gault&Millau. The first edition is scheduled to appear at the end of November 2017. According to the publishing house, Joel Payne and Carsten Henn will act as publishers and chief editors. They have previously held these positions for the Gault&Millau wine guide Germany. The editorial team consists of a team of twenty tasters who have also previously worked for the Gault&Millau Wine Guide.

"We have always wanted to publish a 'Winzer-Best-Of' for Germany - as we already did in Switzerland. With Christian Verlag, we have gained an experienced publishing partner for this book," said Vinum publisher Roland Köhler. "In recent years, our publishing house has published the Gault&Millau wine guide, the previous market leader," explained Hans-Joachim Hartmann, managing director of Christian Verlag. "With this experience, fresh wind and a powerful partner, the new wine guide is now being approached. The fact that Vinum enjoys a large market presence in the German-speaking countries has massively accelerated the decision."

The " Vinum Wine Guide Germany" will present the 1,000 best and most interesting wineries in Germany as well as their best wines and sparkling wines. In addition to the focus on all German wine-growing regions, the special prizes reward extraordinary achievements of the wineries in various categories. With the book at the centre, a website, social media activities and a user-friendly app will round off the project, explained editor-in-chief Joel Payne.
