Exxact Robotics
Image header

The first vineyard tractor powered purely by hydrogen goes into test operation. The Traxx Concept H2 model developed by the French company Exxact Robotics was presented at the Fair for Innovations in Agricultural Automation and Robotics (World FIRA) in Toulouse. Its two tanks hold up to 9kg of hydrogen. Electrical energy is generated from this in a fuel cell and stored in batteries with a capacity of 35kW. This allows the tractor to run for up to twelve hours without refuelling. Not only does it run emission-free, but according to the manufacturer it is also much quieter than conventional tractors. One disadvantage is the higher weight compared to diesel tractors.

The Traxx Concept H2 will be tested in everyday French vineyards this year and is expected to go on sale in two to three years.
