The top Tuscan winery Ornellaia and Dalla Valle Vineyards in Napa Valley (California) have presented the first wine of their cooperation project. The "DVO" produced in California from the 2018 vintage consists of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small portion of Cabernet Franc. The partnership between the wineries has already existed quietly since 2017, but had not yet released any wines for sale. Responsible for the project are Ornellaia farm manager Axel Heinz and winemaker Maya Dalla Valle. Only 400 cases are available from this vintage. The 2017 vintage, of which only 200 cases were produced, is also to be offered soon.

The two got to know each other when Dalla Valle did an internship at Ornellaia in 2013. For this purpose, the companies work with the same consultants.
