The first German wine in a paper bottle will soon be available for sale. This is reported by the industry magazine about drinks. The Weißburgunder from the "Fair & Green" certified Winery Cooperative Achkarren at Kaiserstuhl will be available at the drugstore chain Rossmann.

The bottle consists of a plastic tube in the middle and a cover made of paper, which is made from 94 percent recycled cardboard. Weighing 82 grams, it is about five times lighter than a glass bottle weighing between 350 and 800 grams. The empty bottles can be disposed of as waste paper or waste plastic and recycled again. This allows the paper bottles to save up to 84 percent of CO2 emissions compared to glass bottles.
