Mariella Cramer from the Ahr, Katrin Lang from the Baden wine-growing region, Sophia Hanke from the Palatinate, Juliane Schäfer from Rheinhessen and Luise Böhme from the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region prevailed over their competitors in the preliminary round for the election of the 74th German Wine Queen in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. They will compete against each other next Friday, 30 September, in Neustadt's Saalbau and once again put their knowledge and skills to the test.

In the preliminary round, the participants had to answer three technical questions in German and English. The three master jurors, sommelière Natalie Lumpp, the international wine influencer Jana Kreilein as well as Alexander Kohnen, founder of the International Wine Institute (Iwi), paid attention to the correctness of the answers and at the same time praised the great wine knowledge of all applicants.

The final gala will be broadcast live on SWR on Friday, 30 September from 8.15 pm. For the first time in the history of the German Wine Queen, the viewers in front of the screens and in the hall will have the opportunity to vote for who will be the next German Wine Queen. The audience vote will take place either via mobile phone, tablet or laptop via the dialogue forum "meinSWR".
