Fivi, the association of independent winemakers in Italy, has announced that it will move its annual fair from Piacenza to Bologna. After record numbers of exhibitors and visitors at the last event in November 2022, the organisers have started looking for a bigger location. The upcoming "Mercato dei vini dei vignaioli indipendenti" will take place from 25 to 28 November 2023 at the BolognaFiere site.

The format and philosophy of the fair will remain unchanged: Small wineries from all over Italy will be randomly arranged in halls 29 and 30 of the BolognaFiere, which cover more than 20,000 square metres. In addition, artisanal businesses will present their food in Hall 28.

"It's not just a fair, it's the festival of winegrowers and winemakers, a unique moment of encounter between producers, the public and the players. In 2022 we have reached our peak in terms of exhibitor and public participation, so it was inevitable to look for new solutions and spaces, while maintaining the original philosophy," said Lorenzo Cesconi, president of the association.

Bologna is increasingly establishing itself as the leading trade fair city for the agri-food industry in Italy with the Slow Wine Fair, Marca, Sana and the new event.
