Oscar Oliveras / Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2023

Frenchman Thierry Gaudillère has won the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year Award. His shot of a young woman resting briefly after shovelling out a tank came first in the "People" category and was voted Photo of the Year. Caroline Kenyon, founder of the award, explains the decision as follows: "This beautifully lit and framed image shows the dedication and hard physical work involved in winemaking - there is no glamour here. The protagonist's face shows so much character - tired but triumphant, she knows it's a hard job well done."

Best Photo of the Year from the Places category (our picture) was "Pommard Pruning" by Spaniard Oscar Oliveras, while the Products category went to American Adrian Chitty for "The Eye", which shows a fascinating pattern of yeasts at the bottom of a fermentation tank.

The award is part of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Awards, held yesterday in London. The finalists will be on display at the Royal Photographic Society in Bristol from 20 May to 11 June.
