The German Wine Institute (DWI) has presented its new smartphone app "German Wines". It is designed to answer "virtually all consumer questions about local wines" and at the same time provide information about tourist offers or current events in the German wine regions. In addition, it offers culinary tips with suitable wine recommendations as well as exciting winegrower stories as reading material. The app is available for download free of charge for Android and Apple
"The app is dynamically designed and oriented towards the preferences of the users, who can playfully embark on a voyage of discovery through the German wine world. Even wine professionals can learn something new here," explained DWI Managing Director Monika Reule. This is made possible by creating user profiles to indicate special interests or to favor certain topics, locations and types of events.
In the app, users would not only be able to find out about the special features of the grape varieties in German vineyards, but would also be able to quickly find wine suppliers. In addition, online wine tastings, wine festivals, seminars or wine-gastronomic events in the growing regions can be displayed.
