The German Wine Institute (DWI) has agreed on a further cooperation with the new Berlinale management. The institute will serve German wines at all official events of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival from 20 February to 1 March 2020.

At the selection tasting of wines and sparkling wines with Berlinale managing director Mariette Rissenbeek and artistic director Carlo Chatrian, German wine queen Angelina Vogt and other wine experts, 20 white and red wines and four sparkling wines were chosen.

DWI managing director Monika Reule is pleased that the new Berlinale management also wants to continue the long-standing wine partnership. "At the Berlinale, the wines from the German regions get a glamorous appearance in front of a top-class international audience. This allows us to convince important multipliers, for whom our wines are often a premiere, of their quality and diversity," says the DWI head.

As part of the Berlinale cooperation, the DWI will again cooperate with the wine trade in the capital in 2020: Visitors to the festival will receive a discount on the purchase of a Berlinale wine package with three bottles of German wine at selected retailers upon presentation of their admission ticket.
