The DOC Prosecco Consortium signs a contract form that obliges the wineries, cellars and bottlers to respect the prices of cask wines indicated therein for three years. With this the consortium wants to stop speculation.

The contract also defines parameters for the quality of the Glera base wines, such as the minimum alcohol and extract content. All contracts concluded must now also be deposited with the consortium. This gave members a more precise and market-oriented overview of the price situation than the information from the commodity exchange on which the Glera wines are traded.

The Prosecco Consortium also announced the figures for the first half of 2017: According to these figures, exports rose by 6.9 percent from January to June inclusive. There were significant differences: While sales of Prosecco Spumante grew by a significant 9.8 percent, the inexpensive Frizzante lost 6.3 percent of its sales.
