The German Wine Institute (DWI) is looking for German wine producers and marketers who have personal ties to the Bordeaux wine growing region through work stays, internships, ancestors, marriage as well as investments, takeovers or investments. Equally interesting are French producers or traders with connections to Germany.

The background to the campaign is the joint planning of the DWI and the wine-growing region Bordelais to conduct joint marketing in the United States from 2019 to 2021. In this way, they want to promote the sale of wines from both regions. The European Union will cover 80 percent of the costs incurred, the DWI announced. The project includes participation in consumer trade fairs, travel for retailers, restaurants and the media, a website for the campaign, promotion in retail outlets and public relations through social media channels.

In order to highlight the similarities, DWI and the CIVB (Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux) are looking for personal wine stories that connect both regions. The DWI in the USA wants to tell some of these events and connections.
