German winegrowers are expecting an early harvest of the 2020 vintage in autumn, according to a report by the German Press Agency (dpa). The reasons for this are the again very early blossoming of the vines as well as the rather large amount of rain in June. "We are very satisfied with the vegetation," Thomas Höfer, President of the Nahe Winegrowers' Association, told dpa. The blossoming had already ended ten days before the average annual average. It normally sets the date for the harvest around 100 days later. However, the grapes are currently still very small for the development process. Therefore, many winegrowers expect a rather small harvest.
