The 71st German Wine Queen is called Angelina Vogt and comes from Weinsheim an der Nahe. She will be supported in her office from 2019 to 2020 by the wine princesses Julia Sophie Böcklen from Württemberg and Carolin Hillenbrand from Hessische Bergstrasse. They were elected by a jury of about 70 experts in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse.

Angelina Vogt, Julia Sophie Böcklen and Carolin Hillenbrand stood their ground among six finalists who had been selected by the jury for the final after the preliminary round last Saturday. Here, all six women had to prove their wine-sensory, rhetorical and communication skills in several rounds. They commented on their feature films, gave original greetings, completed guessing rounds and mastered a concealed wine tasting.

In an interim vote, the jury chose three candidates who will definitely wear a German wine crown. The only question was, which one? To do so, they had to convince the jurors with a personal speech based on a line from their favourite song.

Angelina Vogt convinced the jury with her naturalness and easiness, but also with a lot of emotion.

Together with the two German Wine Princesses, Angelina Vogt will now be travelling for a year on behalf of the German Wine Institute as an ambassador for German wine to well over 200 events in Germany and abroad.
