The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate is calling for an end to all pandemic restrictions by the expiry of free Corona testing in Germany on 11 October at the latest. Due to the already achieved vaccination rate of more than 60 percent of the total population, there is no longer any life-threatening danger, said the Rhineland-Palatinate Dehoga President Gereon Haumann.
Since it was ensured that everyone who wanted to be vaccinated by that day could do so, he said, Corona restrictions for individual citizens and businesses were no longer justified.
The hoteliers and restaurateurs are calling for the "2-G" regulation as a voluntarily selectable option. Corona-related restrictions such as distance requirement, mask requirement, room restriction and contact data collection should thus be dropped for vaccinated and genesis in establishments whose hosts choose this option. "The permanent opening of our establishments must be ensured in order to finally give entrepreneurs and employees reliable planning security again," Haumann emphasised.
The wine-growing regions of Rheinhessen, Mittelrhein, Nahe, Ahr as well as Mosel, Saar and Ruwer belong to the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
