The owner of Château Latour, the holding company Artémis Domaines, has acquired a minority stake in the Jacquesson champagne house. Artémis Domaines is owned by the family of the French billionaire François Pinault, founder of the Kering group. The holding includes luxury brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta as well as the sporting goods manufacturer Puma. In addition to shares in Kering, the company Artémis, founded in 1992, also owns Château Latour in Bordeaux, Eisele Vineyard in Napa Valley, Clos de Tart in Burgundy and Château-Grillet in the Rhône. According to Forbes magazine, Francois Pinault has been one of the richest people in the world for years.

Champagne Jacquesson is owned by the Chiquet family, who in recent years have restored the house to its former reputation with a clear quality strategy. Concentration on the terroir and the vintage character characterise the wines. The production is "voluntarily limited to 250,000 bottles per year", the joint statement of Jacquesson and Artémis Domaines said. With the participation, François Pinault is invading the domain of his long-time rival Bernard Arnault, French media speculate. With LVMH, Arnault is the owner of the champagne producers with the highest turnover.
