Generational change at Château Lafite: In March 2018, the 77-year-old Baron Eric de Rothschild, the current director of operations, will hand over the chairmanship of the supervisory board of the winery management company Domaines Baron de Rothschild to his daughter Saskia de Rothschild. The journalist studied in Paris as well as at the renowned Columbia University in New York and worked for many years as editor of the New York Times. She has already been co-director of her father's group of companies for two years. However, Baron Eric de Rothschild will continue to be active as a partner at Château Lafite.
The management of the winery group will also change as a result. Christophe Salin, the long-standing CEO, will hand over his position to Jean-Guillaume Prats, previously CEO and President of the LVMH luxury wine group and Managing Director of Château Cos d'Estournel for 14 years.
