Château Lafite-Rothschild is bringing its 2025 vintage to the subscription market at a price of €336 per bottle (ex-négociant). This represents an increase of nearly 17 percent compared to 2024 and a bottle price of around €470 including taxes. Thus, Château Lafite-Rothschild 2025 costs the same as Château Cheval Blanc 2025.
The second wine Carruades de Lafite will be available for €193.20 including taxes per bottle. This price is 15 percent higher than the 2024 vintage. According to the magazine Terre des Vins, the 2025 vintage is the last produced in the old wooden fermentation cellar of Château Lafite-Rothschild. Until the next grape harvest, the winery will be using a new cellar.
Sophia Gilmour, market analyst at the trading platform Liv-ex, describes the price increase of Château Lafite-Rothschild in the trade magazine The Drinks Business as a "strong move". However, it takes into account the current prices, as these have been on an upward trend since the beginning of the year. Moreover, despite the increase, 2025 is among the cheapest vintages of Lafite-Rothschild currently available. Gilmour estimates that the positive response from buyers to Cheval Blanc's pricing has also encouraged Lafite-Rothschild to raise its prices. She considers it "unlikely that the price will fall further.".
This estimation is also supported by the price development at other renowned wineries in Bordeaux. For instance, Château Angélus is asking ten percent more for its 2025 vintage than for 2024; Carillon d’Angélus 2025 costs about six percent more than 2024.
