Château Lafite Rothschild has announced the price for the 2024 vintage at 288 Euros (ex-Négociant). This is on par with 2014. According to initial offers from the German online wine dealer Lobenberg, the wine will be available for private customers in Germany in the subscription for nearly 400 Euros.
According to analysts from the trading platform Liv-ex, this is "by far" the cheapest Lafite vintage currently on the market. The resale price is about 30 percent below the release price of the 2023 vintage and even 52 percent below that of the 2022 vintage. Compared to the trading price of the 2021 vintage, 2024 is currently about 14 percent cheaper.
Lafite follows Château Branaire-Ducru, which released its 2024 vintage last Friday as the cheapest since 2013, except for 2021 – with a price of 26.50 Euros per bottle (ex-Négociant). This corresponds to a discount of almost 18 percent compared to the release price of 2023.
Château Gruaud Larose also released its 2024 vintage at 43.20 Euros per bottle (ex-Négociant), making it the lowest price since 2013. This results in a discount of nearly 28 percent compared to 2023.
Château Duhart-Milon 2024 was released at a price of 45.60 Euros per bottle (ex-Négociant) – a decrease of around 19 percent compared to 2023. According to Liv-ex, the wines have generated very little demand since the price announcement, as the vintage does not offer a good price-performance ratio compared to cheaper, higher-rated vintages.
