As the first offer of the Bordeaux vintage 2018 in the En-Primeur shop, Château Angélus has called for the price of 252 euros per bottle (ex-negociant). This was announced by the Bordeaux trading platform Liv-Ex. The price is almost nine percent lower than in 2017 and thus at the same level as in 2015, the second price drop in a row. The timing is also unusual: last year Angélus only announced its En-Primeur price in June.
The experts are now eagerly awaiting the further price development of the vintage as a whole. Many châteaux had already significantly reduced their prices last year, in some cases by a double-digit percentage. Top establishments such as Mouton, Margaux or Haut Brion called for the 2015 price twelve months ago.
