Champagne house Deutz is selling a selection of mature wines from 1982 to 2002. The bottles come directly from its cellars and are part of the "Berceaux Vinothèque" collection.
Fabrice Rosset, president of Deutz, said at the launch of Berceaux Vinothèque that he had set aside between 7,000 and 17,000 bottles of each vintage for storage since he joined in 1996. This gives his successors "a nice selection of older vintages to play with".

At the same time, the champagne house can draw on an archive of older wines. Rosset plans to release up to 7,000 bottles per year. This year, there are exactly 6,674 bottles, including vintage champagnes from 1982, 1983, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002. Blanc de Blancs with vintage and the prestige cuvées Amour de Deutz and William Deutz are also on offer. The champagnes are not matured on the lees. Rosset said he prefers "the richness and aromas" of wines that were disgorged some time ago.

There are currently about 350,000 bottles in the cellars of Deutz in Aÿ for later release.
