Sales of canned wine are on the rise worldwide and will grow by 13.2 per cent per year until 2028, according to a study by the market research institute Grand View Research. In 2020, the turnover was 211.4 million dollars. Above all young people in the USA and Great Britain showed increasing interest in the format, according to the study. While, according to a survey by Wine Intelligence, only 21 percent of Britons and 33 percent of Americans considered buying wine in cans in 2017, the share rose to 32 percent (UK) and 42 percent (USA) in 2020.

Meanwhile, wine critics are also beginning to look at this segment. In July 2021, for example, the "International Canned Wine Competition" was held for the third time in California, for which a jury of selected consumers, wine wholesalers and other wine professionals evaluated over 300 canned wines from all over the world. They came from France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, England and even India.
