The system supplier FP Sensor Systems from Bürgstadt has introduced the BarrelCooler BC, an innovative system for controlled fermentation in barriques: According to a company statement, it combines a flexible stainless steel cooling hose with a fermentation controller to form a compact unit. The device is placed directly on the wooden barrel or tank and connected to the cold water circuit via a coupling system. This eliminates the effort previously required to connect the individual units. The integrated stainless steel equipment support also functions as a holder for the control unit, plug and cooling hose. The stainless steel immersion sleeve that is firmly connected to it ensures the hygienic connection of the integrated PT1000 precision temperature sensor. The product, for which a patent application has been filed, is available with various hose lengths and plug contours.
