The best-selling wine brand in the world in 2019 is "Barefoot" from the US wine company E&J Gallo from Modesto in California. This is the result of a survey by Drinks Business. According to the survey, of the total of 75 different "Barefoot" wines, around 22.5 million cases of 12 bottles were sold, or 270 million bottles. According to the market research institute Nielsen, "Barefoot" has recorded an increase of almost 20 percent in 2019 compared to 2018.

E&J Gallo is also in second place, with the wines of the "Gallo family" brand achieving global sales of around 15 million 12-bottle cases in 2019. The Group has almost 10,000 hectares of vineyards and produces about 40 percent of California's total. In total, E&J Gallo owns around 100 wine brands.

With 11.5 million 12-bottle cases sold, "Yellow Tail" takes third place with eight wines from Australia's Casella Wines. Fourth place with 10.7 million 12-bottle cases is taken by the seven wines from the Chinese "Changyu" label of Changyu Pioneer Wine from Yantai. Fifth place goes to California again: The "Mondavi" brand of the American beverage company Constellation Brands in Oakville, California, sold around 10.5 million 12-bottle crates from its seven labels. It also includes "Woodbridge", whose inexpensive wines are available in German discounters and supermarkets.

No European wine brand is listed in the top ten.
