The 65th wine auction of the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges (Côte d'Or) raised a total of 1.526 million euros last Sunday. This represents an increase in revenue of 91.7 percent compared to the previous year. In 2025, only a few lots were auctioned due to the unfavorable vintage conditions. Although this year's income is significantly higher than last year, it still falls far short of the record result of 2023, when wines were auctioned for 3.6 million euros.

The top lots of the auction, each sold for 47,000 euros, were the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges Cuvée Hugues Perdrizet and the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint-Georges Cuvée Georges Faiveley, followed by the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Terres Blanches, which was auctioned for 34,000 euros.

The so-called "Pièce de Charité," traditionally reserved for charitable purposes outside the hospices, raised 59,500 euros this year. The proceeds will go to the organization "Ani’nomade," which specializes in animal-assisted therapy projects.

All 2025 lots – including 79 red and 1.5 white wine barrels – were auctioned. A special feature of this vintage is that it is the last under the leadership of Jean-Marc Moron, who has been responsible for winemaking since 1990. He has since handed over production management to Laurence Danel.

The auction was organized for the second time by the online wine auction house iDealwine. "In an unprecedentedly unstable market environment, this result confirms the stable price development with a slightly higher supply and reflects the high quality of the vintage," commented auctioneer and CEO Cyrille Jomand.

The auction at the larger sister winery Hospices de Beaune had already raised around 18.4 million euros in total with its auctions in November – the third-best result in the history of the auctions.
