The Association of Traditional Sparkling Wine Producers has welcomed three new members. At the members' meeting held in early November, Marie Menger-Krug from the Motzenbäcker sparkling wine estate Motzenbäcker** in Deidesheim in the Pfalz, Johannes Gröhl from the Gröhl winery Gröhl*** in Weinolsheim in Rheinhessen, and Christian Kloss from the Von Canal sparkling wine cellar in Winningen on the Mosel were officially welcomed as new "sparkling wine producers.".
The Motzenbäcker sparkling wine estate enriches the stylistic portfolio of the sparkling wine producers through the Méthode Rurale. With Johannes Gröhl, a highly awarded young winemaker joins, and with Christian Kloss, the association gains an engaged ally for the recognition of high-quality German sparkling wine, according to their own statements.
Additionally, the association has appointed a new board. After six years, Clementine Perlitt from the Schloss Vaux winery and Herbert Reinecker from the Reinecker private sparkling wine cellar have stepped down from the board. Their places are now taken by Corinna Eppelmann from the Eppelmann winery in Rheinhessen and Heiko Bamberger from the Bamberger sparkling wine estate at the Nahe. The chair will continue to be held by Volker Raumland, supported by Vice President Ingo Simon and board members Christoph Graf, Heinfried Strauch, and Christian Braunewell. Additionally, Jürgen Aumüller from the Staatsweingut Schloss Wackerbarth in Saxony will support the board as an associate member.
The Association of Traditional Sparkling Wine Producers unites 44 businesses from Germany that see themselves as a platform for traditional and artisanal bottle fermentation.
