At Darling Cellars in South Africa's Western Cape region, 50,000 litres of wine spilled out after a tank support broke. It flowed in a wide stream around the building and formed a wine lake. When the tank toppled, other tanks in as well as the winery building were significantly damaged. A spokesperson for Darling Cellars said in a statement, "While the loss of the wine hits us financially, we are glad no one was hurt. It could have been much worse."
This is confirmed by the spectacular footage shared by Twitter user Lukas Byron from inside the cellar and the subsequent wine stream. The winery assured that the ability to deliver was not in danger as a result.
