On 22 April, two premieres will take place at the Kulturzentrum Mainz: For the first time, the Association of Traditional Sparkling Wine Makers will present itself at the 1st German Sparkling Wine Exchange and introduce the first sparkling wines of the new top category "Sparkling Wine Makers Reserve". The event is part of the Bottleshow of the Winzervereinigung Maxime Herkunft Rheinhessen. A total of around 600 wines and sparkling wines from 123 sparkling wine and wine makers can be tasted on this day. 41 sparkling wine makers will be on site.
The members of the Verband Traditioneller Sektmacher (Association of Traditional Sparkling Wine Makers) exclusively blend regional grapes according to the traditional method. For the "Sektmacher Reserve" sparkling wines, hand harvesting, a maximum yield of whole grape pressing of 50 percent and a minimum yeast storage period of 36 months are prescribed, among other things. They will first be presented by President Volker Raumland**** to the press and the trade public and will be open to the public in the tasting from 4 pm.
