The Federal Foreign Office (AA) and the German Wine Institute (DWI) have selected 19 German wines as the new diplomatic assortment in a blind tasting. After an open call for entries, 305 wines were put forward for pre-selection, 61 made it to the final in Berlin. The award-winning 16 wines and 3 sparkling wines cover different grape varieties, flavours and quality levels from nine growing regions. They will now be sent as an order list to the 226 German representations abroad. There, the wines will be served at official occasions such as receptions, banquets or gala dinners.
