What bread is served with the wine?
Bread is often served at wine tastings to neutralise the taste buds. For this purpose, it should have as little flavour as possible and be easy to chew. White bread (i.e. baked with wheat flour), such as baguette or ciabatta, is recommended.
Rye bread is also possible, but without grains (sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.) and absolutely without aromatic additives such as herbs or spices (e.g. caraway, fennel or aniseed). These can alienate the taste of the wine.
If the bread is served with a snack or meal that the wine should accompany (cheese, sausage, ham, bacon, tartar, smoked fish, etc.), it may also be stronger and grainier. Then it's more about the food than the wine tasting, and the wine can be chosen specifically to accompany it
