Recently, however, the tasting days on which we dealt with South Tyrol became more and more exhausting. Because here, too, climate change is clearly making itself felt in the form of ever higher alcohol levels in the wines.
With Gewürztraminer we have been used to this for a long time, but in the meantime we have also reached 14% for most of the other varieties in our tasting series, which are staggered according to alcohol, often after just a few wines, and at the end of the tasting it is not uncommon for it to be 15%. For most wine drinkers, the carefree drinking fun should be over by then, no matter how good the wine tastes.
